Curriculum & Standards Manager

About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced education professional to take on a key leadership role as a Curriculum & Standards Manager. This role is responsible for leading and developing a curriculum area, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment, while driving student success and meeting key performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the curriculum area to ensure outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.

  • Implement effective quality assurance and improvement activities.

  • Drive student recruitment, retention, and achievement to meet agreed targets.

  • Ensure the curriculum offer aligns with student, employer, and stakeholder needs.

  • Manage and develop staff within the department to ensure high performance.

  • Monitor key performance indicators including attendance, achievement, and progression.

  • Oversee budget management and resource allocation to maintain efficiency and financial sustainability.

  • Contribute to commercial operations within the curriculum area where applicable.

  • Deliver up to five hours of teaching per week.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Lead staff performance management, development, and training.

  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the curriculum area.

  • Oversee student and apprentice behavior management in line with policies.

  • Work closely with senior leadership to define and achieve strategic objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with examination and registration processes.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practice.

Key Requirements:

  • A relevant degree and a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE).

  • Proven experience leading teams in an educational setting.

  • A strong track record in delivering high student achievement rates.

  • Knowledge of curriculum development and quality assurance processes.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and sector best practices.

  • Experience engaging with employers and external stakeholders is desirable.

  • A management qualification would be an advantage.
