Residential Property Legal Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Residential Property Legal Assistant to join our Client an established legal firm in Pocklington. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient and effective legal support services to their clients. The ideal candidate will be client-focused, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to the smooth running of their office.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Efficiently handle typing of documents and correspondence, and manage administrative tasks associated with fee-earners' files.
  • Maintain both paper and online filing systems accurately and promptly.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing post, distinguishing between DX post and Royal Mail post.
  • Perform photocopying to required standards and manage file opening processes, including initial client communications.
  • Complete SDLT forms and Land Registry applications and prepare financial statements and finance chits for checking/signature by Fee Earner.
  • Provide professional client service, dealing courteously with clients, colleagues, and other professional agencies both over the phone and in person.
  • Record messages accurately and forward them to the appropriate person without delay.
  • Make appointments, arrange meetings, and maintain up-to-date diaries for team members.
  • Provide refreshments during interviews as required and ensure the confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation/information.
  • Ensure compliance with the firm’s policies and all relevant company policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous legal/property experience highly desirable.
  • Client-focused with a commitment to delivering first-class service.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a common-sense approach to tasks.
  • Technically sound, with the ability to work in an efficient, organised manner.
