Working within a high-paced food production environment, you will play a crucial role in ensuring machinery operates efficiently, minimising downtime through effective maintenance and proactive support. This role will suit a hands-on engineer who thrives on problem-solving and continuous improvement in a collaborative, team-focused environment.Multi-Skilled Engineer Key Responsibilities:·Carrying out planned maintenance, servicing, and repairs across a range of production and processing machinery.·Performing fault finding, diagnostics, and root cause analysis to ensure maximum equipment uptime.·Ensuring all engineering work is completed to food safety and health & safety standards, maintaining full compliance at all times.·Supporting the operation and upkeep of service plants, including boilers, chilled water systems, compressed air, and effluent treatment.·Taking part in new machinery installations, upgrades, and site improvement projects.·Leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and reduce downtime.·Completing risk assessments before undertaking any maintenance activities, ensuring hazards are controlled.·Maintaining good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards, promoting a clean as you go culture across all areas.·Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and engineering standards at all times.·Collaborating closely with production teams to maintain a proactive and solutions-focused culture.Multi-Skilled Engineer Required Attributes:·Recognised engineering qualifications - Electrical essential, Mechanical advantageous (e.g., Apprenticeship, ONC, City & Guilds, 17th/18th Edition).·Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to support electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks.·Previous experience in a food production environment, ideally within BRCGS or retailer-accredited sites.·Capable of working both independently and as part of a wider engineering and operational team.·Sound understanding of HACCP, food safety, and hygiene principles (even if coming from a non-food background).·Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across departments.·High attention to detail with accurate record-keeping practices for compliance and traceability.·Ability to demonstrate initiative, ownership, and a commitment to continuous improvement.Multi-Skilled Engineer Benefits: ·Canteen·Company pension·Free parking·Health & wellbeing programme·On-site parkingImportant Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
