We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Engineer to join our clients team, to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of mobile warehouse storage systems. This hands-on role involves both proactive and reactive maintenance of a wide range of electro-mechanical equipment across a large and dynamic site. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall safety, functionality, and compliance of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned and reactive electro-mechanical maintenance across a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.
- Support the inspection, servicing, and repair of site systems, infrastructure, and machinery.
- Assist in the calibration of fixed and portable temperature monitoring equipment.
- Use the maintenance management system to log and track maintenance tasks.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Operate mechanical handling and access equipment such as MEWPs, counterbalance trucks, and extended booms safely and in line with training.
- Follow all HSE and company policies, actively promoting a safe working environment and reporting any concerns promptly.
- Act as a first responder in the event of fire or ammonia alarms and demonstrate an understanding of relevant safety protocols.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and other departments.
- Uphold company standards by ensuring all staff adhere to site rules and procedures.
- Maintain awareness of site security, report suspicious activity, and challenge unauthorised behavior.
- Demonstrate knowledge of glass register procedures, damage reports, incident reporting, and basic HACCP/CCP protocols.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work culture with a 'cando' attitude.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mechanical and/or electrical maintenance role, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience with refrigeration systems is advantageous.

Shift Pattern:
- 4 on 4 off, 12 hour days (6am-6pm)
