Job Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Gas Engineer to join a busy social housing maintenance contract, working through an agency for a reputable sub-contractor. The role involves servicing, breakdowns, and repairs of domestic gas appliances in tenanted properties across York, North Yorkshire, and the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on domestic gas appliances (boilers, fires, cookers).
Diagnose faults and complete breakdown repairs efficiently and safely.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Gas Safe regulations and company standards.
Maintain accurate records of work completed using a PDA or job sheets.
Communicate effectively with tenants, housing officers, and the agency.
Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures at all times.


Requirements:

ACS qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1.
Gas Safe registration (if self-employed).
Proven experience in domestic gas servicing and repairs, ideally within social housing.
Full UK driving licence and own van (if not provided).
Own tools and calibrated flue gas analyser.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.


Desirable:

Experience using PDA systems or mobile job management software.
Additional qualifications such as LPG or Unvented Cylinders.
Flexibility to cover emergency call-outs or weekend work (if required )
