Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Forensic Psychologist (RFP) to join a pioneering team at HMP – York, committed to rehabilitation and psychological support for both prisoners and staff.
You’ll be working under the supervision of a Principal Psychologist, delivering high-quality psychological services that meet HCPC standards. This is a supportive environment with opportunities for development and progression.
Key Responsibilities

Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions

Contribute to the supervision and support of Trainee Psychologists

Ensure services adhere to HCPC Standards of Proficiency and Ethics

Support rehabilitation programmes and prisoner resettlement initiatives

Assist with parole assessments and report writing

Help develop strategies to reduce reoffending
Requirements
-
Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Experience within secure or custodial settings is advantageous
-
Familiarity with the Parole Board process and psychological risk assessments (desirable)

RAPP registration (desirable)
