Our client, a reputable organisation in the construction industry, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in York, Yorkshire and the Humber. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a dynamic company specialising in residential, restoration and refurbishment projects.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for residential construction projects.
- Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Carry out tender processes, including analysing tenders and selecting suitable contractors.
- Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to optimise project costs.
- Negotiate contracts and manage contractual changes with clients and suppliers.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure projects are delivered within agreed financial parameters.
- Prepare and present financial reports and progress updates to stakeholders.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the residential construction sector.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and contractual procedures.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
- Valid UK driving licence preferred.
