Exciting Opportunity for a Permanent Quantity Surveyor in York

Our client, a reputable organisation in the construction industry, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in York, Yorkshire and the Humber. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a dynamic company specialising in residential, restoration and refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for residential construction projects.
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Carry out tender processes, including analysing tenders and selecting suitable contractors.
  • Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to optimise project costs.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage contractual changes with clients and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure projects are delivered within agreed financial parameters.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and progress updates to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the residential construction sector.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and contractual procedures.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
  • Valid UK driving licence preferred.
