Key Responsibilities of a Maths Teacher

• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated maths lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters curiosity and confidence in mathematics.
• Use a range of teaching methods and resources to support students of varying abilities.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting respect and a positive learning culture.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support whole-school initiatives and contribute to the wider school community.

Maths Teacher Attributes

• Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for mathematics.
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards it.
• Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.

• Is flexible, reliable, and committed to continuous professional growth.
• Holds (or is willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS on the update service.
