We are seeking a passionate Design and Technology Teacher to work in an Outstanding secondary school located in York. We are open to both early career teachers and experienced teachers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and curiosity.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
- Contribute to the development of the DT curriculum.
- Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop/classroom.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and CPD opportunities.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Design and Technology at KS3 and KS4.
- Strong subject knowledge across a range of DT disciplines (e.g., food tech, textiles, resistant materials, graphics).
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Familiarity with GCSE DT specifications and assessment criteria.
