Assistant Barge Foreman Job Description:

The Assistant Foreman/Straw Boss helps the Foreman supervise and coordinate the work and personnel on a project.

Essential Functions:

Assist in planning, implementing, and managing tasks in accordance with project priorities and goals.
Assist in ensuring all Safe Work Practices are utilized and enforced.
Assist the Foreman in working closely with the Project Team in planning, executing, and completing projects.
Helps to adhere to project schedules.
Assist in managing and guiding the use of machinery and equipment.
Mitigate and resolve emerging problems and issues.
Able to perform job in a safe and expedient manner.
Participate in and promote utilization of the BBI Take 5 Program.

Competencies:

Ability to work both in groups and individually to meet goals and to develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers and team members.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to climb and descent multiple flights of stairs.
Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
