Design Engineer – Downhole / Completion Tools

We’re supporting an engineering and manufacturing business within the oil & gas sector that is looking to add a Design Engineer to its Aberdeen-based team.

This role is focused on the design and development of downhole completion equipment, supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through to testing and manufacturing support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed engineering and manufacturing drawings

• Support design and development of downhole/completion tools

• Assist with prototype assembly and workshop testing activities

• Generate technical documentation, procedures and reports

• Review customer specifications and technical requirements

• Support engineering calculations and product qualification activities

• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and internal procedures

• Maintain drawing integrity and revision control

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or similar

• Around 5+ years’ experience in a related engineering/design environment

• Experience with AutoCAD, CADWorx or similar design packages

• Exposure to downhole tools, completions, packers or oilfield equipment manufacturing

• Understanding of API standards and engineering documentation

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
