SUMMARY OF JOB
- Perform central pharmacy staffing functions including order verification, dispensing, and distribution activities, with weekend days/evening coverage to support safe and efficient inpatient operations.
- Accurately perform checks for code trays and anesthesia/OR inventory management (including but not limited to pyxis optimization for controlled substances) by ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.
- Support medication distribution processes through actively managing Pyxis (i.e., loading meds, outdates), checking cart fills, and optimization of inventory levels to meet patient care needs.
- Monitor and trend reports for medication reconciliation work-ups, reviewing patientsā own medications reports to address and prevent therapy interruptions and ensure continuity of care during hospitalization.
- Ensure adherence to USP <797> standards while preparing medications, undergo media fill testing, and competency requirements.
- Provide staffing coverage for weekday evening shift as needed alongside comply with minimum staffing requirement of 2 weekend shifts per month supporting key functions such as order entry, IV room operations, and participation in documenting clinical interventions and initiatives aligned with patient care goals.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS
Prior experience in an acute care hospital or healthcare system preferred.
Ability to work rotating day & evening shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency desirable but not required.

LICENSE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with an entry-level pharmacy degree (B.Sc. or Pharm.D.).
Pennsylvania pharmacist licensure in good standing (or eligibility for licensure).
One hour of annual stroke education.
