Per Diem / On-Call Pharmacist
The Per Diem Pharmacist reports to the Pharmacist-in-Charge/Pharmacy Manager and supports daily pharmacy operations.
Requirements
- BS or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy
 - Active pharmacist license in good standing with the state Board of Pharmacy
 - Successful completion of internship requirements and NAPLEX (and state law exam)
 - Ability to pass background checks (criminal, Medicare exclusion, fingerprinting)
 - Preferred: 3–5 years of retail, independent, or clinical pharmacy experience

- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
 - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment
 - Proficiency with pharmacy software and third-party billing (or willingness to learn)
 - Solid knowledge of medications, dosing, interactions, and counseling
 - Ability to perform basic pharmacy math

Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense prescriptions accurately
 - Counsel patients on prescription and OTC medications
 - Supervise and support pharmacy staff as needed
 - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations (HIPAA, DEA, etc.)
 - Maintain inventory, workflow, and a clean, safe pharmacy environment

Work Environment
- Retail pharmacy setting; standing and lifting up to 25 lbs required
 - Flexible scheduling, including coverage for vacations, sick days, and peak needs
 - English required; Spanish a plus
