Pay Rate: $50/houe - $65/hour & based on experience
Birch Agency is currently seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist for an in-person position in Accomack County, VA for the 20262027 school year.

We are looking for a compassionate, student-centered Occupational Therapist who is passionate about supporting students functional, academic, and developmental success within the school setting.
Position Overview:
The Occupational Therapist will provide services to students with identified needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and school participation. The OT will collaborate closely with educators, families, and related service providers to support student achievement and independence.
Essential Duties:
Provide occupational therapy services to eligible students in accordance with IEPs
Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and contribute to eligibility determinations
Develop, implement, and monitor occupational therapy goals and treatment plans
Document student progress and maintain accurate service and compliance records
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
Consult with school staff regarding classroom accommodations and strategies
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills
Ensure therapy environments are safe, organized, and conducive to learning
Assume responsibility for therapy materials, equipment, and documentation
Comply with all federal, state, and district regulations
Perform other duties as assigned by school administration and special education leadership
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (Preferred)
Current Virginia Occupational Therapy License (or eligibility)
NBCOT certification (Preferred)
School-based experience preferred, but not required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community
