Safety Manager

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of workplace safety and regulatory compliance within a growing manufacturing operation in Northwest Ohio. This position will play a key role in promoting a culture of safety, reducing risk, and ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct routine facility audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify opportunities for improvement and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Lead safety training initiatives, including new hire onboarding, emergency response, hazard communication, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with operational leaders to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and employee engagement.
  • Maintain safety records, training documentation, regulatory reports, and compliance-related records.
  • Monitor changes in regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and program effectiveness.
  • Support environmental compliance initiatives and sustainability efforts as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience leading safety programs within a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement practical solutions.
  • Professional safety certification (CSP, ASP, OHST, or similar) preferred.
