The PositionÂ
• Oversees instructional and reference programs with a focus on continuous improvement and strong customer service.Â
• Plans, implements, and assesses the library’s information literacy plan.Â
• Oversees the development and maintenance of the reference schedules.Â
• Develops, schedules, and coordinates the library’s involvement with Freshman Seminar.Â
• Oversees LibGuides Maintenance and Standards Compliance Review.Â
• Instructs students in library use and research skills in the classroom and at the Reference Desk.Â
• Serves as liaison to several academic departments, collaborating with faculty on research, collection development, information literacy curriculum development, and special projects. Â
• Remains up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices.Â
• Leads and serves on library and university committees.Â
• Supervises one full-time staff member.Â
The LibraryÂ
Linscheid Library is comprised of five librarians, five staff members, and a director that workÂ
collaboratively to foster student success at ECU and within the community of Ada.Â
The PlaceÂ
East Central University is a student-centered regional public university offering undergraduate baccalaureate degree programs in arts and letters, business, education, mathematics and sciences, nursing and the social sciences; master's degrees in accounting, education, human resources, and psychology; and a doctoral degree in Rural Education. ECU is located in Ada, a city of 16,000, in the east central region of Oklahoma. Ada is the home of the Chickasaw Nation’s business headquarters, the Robert S. Kerr EPA Water Research Laboratory, and LegalShield. It offers a hometown feel, along with quality schools, restaurants, and other businesses.
Your QualificationsÂ
Both experienced librarians, recent graduates, and current students from ALA-accredited MLS programs are encouraged to apply. Instructional experience preferred. Excellent communication skills, strong public service orientation, computer literacy, and data analysis skills required.Â
