At Staxmatic, we invest in our people, offering competitive pay, strong benefits, and real career growth.  Position Overview Staxmatic is seeking an experienced and driven Commercial Construction Project Manager (MEP) with a strong background in mechanical and/or plumbing construction to lead projects from pre-construction through final closeout. This is a high-impact role for a PM who thrives on full project ownership, which includes managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field teams across large-scale commercial construction projects.  This role is responsible for full project execution and financial performance, including pre-construction planning, budgeting, cost control, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, field coordination, contract administration, RFI and submittal management, and project closeout. The Project Manager works closely with Mechanical and Plumbing Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and General Contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract, quality, and safety requirements. This position is ideal for a PM with strong commercial MEP expertise who understands both field operations and project financial management. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: Up to $165,000 annually + Project Completion Bonus Vehicle Allowance: $500 monthly Schedule: Monday–Friday Pay Frequency: Weekly Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance HSA with $700 annual company match 401(k) with 4% company match Hospital and Identity Theft coverage Voluntary Short-Term Disability, Life, Accident, and Long-Term Disability coverage Company-paid Basic Life and AD&D insurance Pay Card option and online pay stub access Company-provided iPhone and iPad Continuing education and professional development support Career growth and advancement opportunities Key Responsibilities Manage commercial mechanical and plumbing construction projects through all phases, from pre-construction planning and buyout through project closeout Maintain full responsibility for mechanical and plumbing scope, including HVAC systems, piping, ductwork, and plumbing installations Develop, manage, and control project budgets including job cost tracking, cost-to-complete forecasting, and change order management Create, maintain, and update project schedules in coordination with Superintendents and field leadership using look-ahead planning and baseline schedule management Lead subcontractor buyout, scope review, and contract execution during pre-construction and project startup Monitor field progress, manpower, productivity, and labor utilization to ensure project milestones are achieved Identify and mitigate project risks, constructability issues, schedule impacts, and scope conflicts proactively Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, billing support, owner invoicing, and closeout materials Serve as the primary point of contact for General Contractors, Owners, design teams, and all project stakeholders Lead coordination with Mechanical and Plumbing Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and General Contractors Review, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, specifications, and contract documents to keep projects moving Drive timely resolution of field issues, design conflicts, and scope changes through coordination with internal teams and external partners Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, company safety policies, quality requirements, and project specifications Support client communication, progress updates, Owner reporting, and alignment with contractual expectations Participate in project meetings, OAC meetings, and internal project reviews QualificationsRequired Qualifications 5+ years of construction project management experience in commercial Mechanical and/or Plumbing (MEP) construction Demonstrated experience managing commercial MEP projects from pre-construction through closeout (non-residential) Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, piping, ductwork, and commercial construction sequencing Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts Hands-on experience managing project budgets, job cost tracking, forecasting, and change orders Experience managing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and contract documents Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced commercial construction environment Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background check requirements Work Environment Combination of office and active commercial construction jobsite work Travel to job sites across Texas as required Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions when visiting active job sites Learn more: www.staxmatic.com
