  • The salary for this role is competitive, reflecting the candidate's experience and qualifications.

About the Role

You'll be joining HUT's Production Engineering team, working directly under the Director of Production Engineering on the floor where our aviation products come to life. This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role — you'll be embedded in daily operations, serving as the technical resource the production team turns to when things need solving. HUT builds everything in-house, so you'll have real visibility into how products go from design to assembly to delivery, and your work will have a direct impact on the quality of what ships to our aviation customers.

What You'll Do

  • Be the go-to engineering resource on the production floor, jumping in to resolve manufacturing issues as they arise
  • Dig into process data to identify inefficiencies and drive improvements in quality, throughput, and waste reduction
  • Lead root cause investigations on production failures and non-conformances, and own the corrective actions through to resolution
  • Write and maintain clear, accurate standard work instructions and process documentation
  • Partner with quality, design, and supply chain teams to make sure new products are built for manufacturability from the start
  • Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and test equipment that make assembly faster, safer, and more repeatable
  • Work hands-on with machinists, technicians, and vendors to bring tooling solutions from concept to the floor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Solid grasp of GD&T and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • A natural problem-solver — you don't just identify issues, you stay with them until they're fixed
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and communicating clearly with production, engineering, and quality teams
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or medical devices is a plus, as is familiarity with ERP/MRP, PLM systems, or FAA/Mil Spec requirements
