We are expanding in the Hawaii market and are seeking a geotechnical engineer across experience levels - from motivated entry-level candidates to seasoned professionals. Our current backlog includes several large, landmark multi-year projects, providing long-term stability and meaningful project involvement for our Hawaii team.

Duties: 

This position is responsible for evaluating subsurface conditions and providing geotechnical engineering support for a variety of construction and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will analyze soil, rock, and groundwater conditions to support the design of foundations, earthworks, and other geotechnical systems that ensure the stability and safety of structures.

  • Geotechnical Investigations

Conduct field explorations, review subsurface conditions, and analyze laboratory testing results to characterize soil and rock properties.

  • Engineering Analysis & Design

Develop geotechnical recommendations and design solutions for foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, and earthwork construction.

  • Technical Reporting

Prepare clear and comprehensive geotechnical reports documenting site conditions, engineering analyses, and design recommendations.

  • Construction Support

Provide technical guidance during construction, including observation of foundation systems, earthwork, and site preparation activities.

  • Project Coordination

Assist with project planning and coordination to ensure geotechnical work is completed on schedule and within project budgets.

  • Collaboration

Work closely with civil, structural, and environmental engineers, contractors, and project teams to support successful project delivery.

We are hiring at multiple levels - responsibilities and compensation will align with education and qualifications.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis, Geology, or Geotechnical Engineering. 
  • 0–10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience preferred, including subsurface investigations, geotechnical analysis, and report preparation. Candidates with varying levels of experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in geotechnical analysis software and standard engineering tools. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interact with clients and contractors.
