Job Title: Press Brake Technician

Reports to: Business Unit Leader of Specified Location

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Monday – Thursday 4:00am – 2:30pm. Extended hours may be required to support business needs


Summary of position:
 Operation of brake presses, operation of forklifts, lead part development and prototyping for new products, the ability to interpret complex technical drawings/blueprints and developing creative tooling and setup processes to manufacture parts to required specifications. The employee will also be responsible for performing quality checks and ensuring that parts meet the highest standards of efficiency and quality. Employees must follow standard work instructions and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

 

Primary duties and responsibilities:

 

  1. Read and interpret drawings/blueprints 
  2. Develop press brake tooling setups and optimal bending sequences 
  3. Lead part development and prototyping efforts 
  4. Assist in creating work instructions for production staff 
  5. Read and understand work instructions 
  6. Load and unload parts 
  7. Change different types of punches & dies 
  8. Wear appropriate PPE. 
  9. Handle/lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis 
  10. Perform product quality checks in accordance with work instructions. 
  11. Package parts per specifications 
  12. Use small hand-held tools to make minor adjustments to parts 
  13. Read and understand measurement devices 


Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

 

  1. Must be able to use small hand tools, such as grinders, drills and gages 
  2. Must be able to read blueprints, calipers & micrometers 
  3. Must be able to accurately complete all required Modineer production system documentation such as production reports, inspection reports, etc. 
  4. Forklift experience is a plus 

 

 

Physical environment/work conditions: 

The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.


Other (e.g., customer contact or access to confidential information): 

 This position works in a production environment. The position will report directly to the Production supervisor and will have daily interaction with other team members.
