This position provides spiritual leadership by assisting with worship services, Bible studies, discipleship, youth ministries, and evangelism while helping oversee community outreach, volunteer engagement, and social service programs. The Corps Mission Associate also supports the planning, coordination, and administration of Corps activities, ensuring programs effectively meet the physical and spiritual needs of the community. This role requires a servant's heart, strong leadership and organizational skills, and a commitment to sharing the love of Jesus Christ through service. Key Responsibilities Provide Spiritual Leadership: Assist the Corps Officer in planning and leading worship services, Bible studies, discipleship, youth ministries, evangelism, and outreach programs that strengthen the spiritual life of the Corps and community. Lead Community Outreach & Social Services: Build relationships with community members and partners, coordinate outreach initiatives, and support programs that meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals and families. Coordinate Corps Programs & Volunteers: Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers while assisting with the planning and oversight of Corps ministries, seasonal programs, special events, and community activities. Support Corps Operations: Assist with the daily administration of the Corps by coordinating programs, monitoring budgets, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and performing other duties that advance the mission of The Salvation Army. QualificationsQualifications Compensation: $30,000.00 annually (Exempt, Salaried) Work Schedule: The regular business hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. As an exempt, salaried position, the Corps Mission Associate is expected to work the hours necessary to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the role. This may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and other hours outside of the normal business schedule as needed to support ministry activities, worship services, outreach programs, special events, volunteer engagement, and the overall mission and operational needs of The Salvation Army. Bachelor's degree in Ministry, Theology, Religious Studies, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in ministry, mission work, church leadership, or program development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Active, uniform-wearing Salvationist in good standing (Bona Fide Occupational Qualification – BFOQ). Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to lead worship, discipleship, outreach initiatives, and community engagement activities. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and travel locally for community outreach, ministry activities, and home visits as needed. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard office technology is preferred.
