Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for skilled and experienced Electricians and Technicians who will play an important role in the manufacture of a variety of flooring solutions for our residential and commercial customers. We are looking for individuals who aremotivated, interested in learning various skills, and who enjoy problem solving.Ā This position is located in Aiken, South Carolina.

ELECTRICIAN POSITION DUTIES & TASKS:Ā 

  • Oversee equipment maintenance which includes repairing and installing electrical systems, motors, inverters, PLC’s, robotic systems, and automated technologies.Ā Ā 

  • Troubleshoot, and complete repairs to ensure safety and minimal downtime.Ā 

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections and review drawings and written instructions to ensure proper equipment operation.Ā 

  • Execute assigned or scheduled work orders in support of projects and process improvement (PI) efforts identified as critical to business objectives.Ā 

  • Mentor junior maintenance electricians to improve their understanding and efficiency on electrical systems, installations, and upgrades.Ā 

Maintain manufacturing process and support equipment to highest, reasonable performance levels to include electrical systems including, but not limited to:Ā 

  • Electrical system components - MCC’s, inverters, motors, etc.Ā 

  • Control systems - PLC’s, robotics, and other associated automation equipmentĀ 

Troubleshoot and execute repairs of equipment causing or contributing to safety, quality, downtime/productivity opportunities and issuesĀ 

  • Differentiate between cause types when troubleshooting among product, process, mechanical, and electrical contributorsĀ 

  • Communicate findings, identifying potential causes, and correction steps to operations and maintenance leadershipĀ 

  • Verify, provide feedback, and update electrical schematics appropriately and in a timely mannerĀ 

Execute and assist in development ofĀ  proactive maintenance plans, including planned jobs on assigned equipment to include:Ā 

  • Preventive Maintenance (PM) - inspection & measurement of equipment components for proper function applying specifications, drawings, and written instruction on pre-defined schedulesĀ Ā 

  • Condition Maintenance (CM) – repair and replacement of components identified as requiring attention through PM & PdM activities based on detailed job plans, including development of detailed job plans and ensuring any necessary updates to schematics are completedĀ 

Execute assigned or scheduled work orders in support of projects and process improvement (PI) efforts identified as critical to business objectivesĀ 

Mentor Reliability Electrician II’s & III’s in development of needed skills, while continuing to strengthen personal skills through assisting Reliability Electrician V’s in installation, upgrades, and removal of general electrical systemsĀ 

MAINTENANCE TECH POSITION DUTIES & TASKS: Ā 

Execution of assigned tasks and duties with focus on:

Safe work practices High quality, precision work with a customer service orientation in support of ā€œGreat Products & Serviceā€

Adherence to standards and best practice application acquired through training and work experience

Grow in knowledge of maintenance practices and equipment performance, understanding their impact on manufacturing processes and business objectives Provide feedback on job assignment needs and improvement opportunities with peers and leadership

Maintain manufacturing process and support equipment to highest, reasonable performance levels to include mechanical systems including, but not limited to: Power transmission components - bearings, pulleys/sheaves, shafts/rollers, couplings, sprockets, chains, belts, motors, and gearboxes. Conveyance systems – product/process related, as well as those tied to utilities such as steam, water, air, electricity, etc. which could include pumps, piping, etc. Mechanical control systems - including related hydraulic & pneumatic elements Troubleshoot and execute repairs of equipment causing or contributing to safety, quality, downtime/productivity opportunities and issues

Communicate findings, identifying potential causes, and correction steps to operations and maintenance leadership

Execute and provide feedback on proactive maintenance plans on assigned equipment to include: Preventive Maintenance (PM) - inspection & measurement of equipment components for proper function, including replacement of components on pre-defined schedules and lubrication

Predictive Maintenance (PdM) – inspection and measurement of equipment performance applying Infrared Thermography, collection of oil samples for outside analysis, and basic ultrasound measurement with audible evaluation Condition Maintenance (CM) – repair and replacement of components identified as requiring attention through PM & PdM activities, including influence in the development of detailed job plans Execute assigned or scheduled work orders in support of projects and process improvement (PI) efforts identified as critical to business objectives

Mentor Reliability Techs C & D in development of needed skills, while continuing to strengthen personal skills through assisting Reliability Tech A’s and Leads in installation and removal of general mechanical system
