Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client’s team in Greenville, SC. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical systems across multiple plant operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in industrial automation, control systems, and project leadership, driving continuous improvement and innovation. You will lead complex projects from concept to commissioning, ensuring all work meets technical, safety, and budgetary standards. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment and is committed to excellence in engineering and operational performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert electrical engineering support across single or multiple plant areas.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action projects to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Manage capital and expense projects ranging from $50K to $1M, including new machine installations, upgrades, and retrofits.
  • Analyze project requirements, define design parameters, and deliver accurate, timely, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Oversee project workflows, coordinate internal and external resources, and ensure on-time delivery within quality and budget constraints.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety standards, including NFPA 70E, and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and finalize electrical designs, bills of materials, and spare parts requirements in alignment with project scope and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with automation vendors and manage external contractors during installation, commissioning, and startup phases.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings using Autodesk software.
  • Conduct project and equipment risk assessments, and implement appropriate safety countermeasures.
  • Design and implement electrical control systems, including PLC and HMI programming, VFDs, servos, and industrial networking.
  • Specify, procure, and validate electrical hardware and services for project execution.
  • Lead and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), I/O checkout, machine startup, and commissioning activities.

Requirements

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, with proven expertise in Allen Bradley PLCs, remote I/O, HMIs, and Rockwell software.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and program PLCs in real-world manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with industrial Ethernet communication protocols and machine network architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical safety standards, including arc flash mitigation and component selection per NFPA 70E.
  • Strong work ethic and self-starter mindset with a proven ability to manage budgets and deliver results.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, with familiarity with production and maintenance processes.
  • Preferred: Advanced communication and negotiation skills for managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Preferred: Experience supervising contractors and maintenance technicians.
  • Preferred: Full lifecycle experience in designing, developing, and overseeing electrical control systems.
