We specialize in producing the highest quality pigs for our customers around the country and transport them all over the world. We are made up of multiple farm locations, all strategically located to provide our pigs with the safest and healthiest environment. Because of this commitment to excellence, we provide the highest quality swine genetics in the industry. This position is located in Ainsworth, Nebraska.  Job Summary: The position is responsible for power washing and disinfecting livestock trailers, while performing routine and preventative facility tasks and general equipment repair to ensure safety and biosecurity standards are maintained. Job Description: Power wash and disinfect the entire livestock trailer including gates, ramps, ceilings and floor in a timely and efficient manner. Inspects the livestock trailer for cleanliness and any defects that might affect the safety of animals and report any issues to manager for resolution. Maintains required trailer wash records and report any discrepancies to manager. Performs routine and preventative facility tasks such as yard work, laundry and supply replenishment as needed. Ensures wash and dryer bays are clean at all times, pulling trailers in and out of wash and dryer bays utilizing company tractor. Complies with the company standard operating procedures and wears personal protective equipment (PPE). Inspects all high-pressure hose, fittings and mechanical equipment periodically for cuts or wear and reports to manager of any that are in need of replacing to prevent personal injury. Performs light duty maintenance on the facility, equipment and trailers as needed and communicates any issues to manager. Communicates with manager on any biosecurity concerns to ensure quality and safety requirements are met. Understands the concept of clean and dirty areas and what procedures must be followed when moving around facility. Responsible for following biosecurity standards and herd health policies, which includes mandatory showering and changing into farm clothes prior to entering the farm, having no contact with other swine, and adhering to down-time requirements as established by PIC (Pig Improvement Company). Performs other duties as determined by senior leadership. QualificationsJob Requirements: HS Graduate or Equivalent. Must be 18 years of age or older. Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred; Not Required. Valid driver's license and insurability is required to operate company vehicles. No DUI within last 5 years. 1 year of related work experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and provide resolution and follow-up to meet needs of facility.  Working knowledge with machinery and mechanical processes, with ability to operate machinery.  Work independent and collaboratively, and ability to apply independent thinking and judgement to provide resolution. Proper disposal of waste such as recyclables, standard waste, hazardous waste, etc. is expected. Ability to work in conditions with varying temperatures, loud noise, odiferous and dust. Ability to perform the required functions of the job, including physical demands like lifting/moving over 50 pounds, pushing, kneeling and bending at the waist for long periods of time, climbing up/down stairs, and operating high power equipment. Willingness to take on additional duties as assigned by management.
