Description of Work
This Substance Abuse Program Coordinator (SAPC) position is located at the DART Center (Goldsboro, NC). This is a 300-bed residential treatment facility responsible for the delivery of chemical dependency treatment services to probationers sent by the courts and parolees released from the State Prison System and transitioning back into the community.The Substance Abuse Program Coordinator supports the daily operation of a residential substance abuse treatment program by providing administrative and clinical supervision, overseeing facility and safety practices, and coordinating staff activities to ensure consistent and effective service delivery. The role functions as the building administrator, works under the supervision of the Human Services Program Manager II, and collaborates with other unit administrators to maintain program continuity and operational quality.
Key Duties Include:
ā¢Providing administrative and clinical supervision to Substance Abuse Workers and indirect oversight of Substance Abuse Counselors.
ā¢Managing building operations, materials, equipment, and safety practices to maintain a functional residential treatment environment.
ā¢Overseeing treatmentārelated processes including intake, assessments, service delivery, documentation, and program continuity.
ā¢Developing work schedules, assigning tasks, and evaluating the performance of assigned staff.
ā¢Coordinating staff and unit activities with other administrators to support overall program effectiveness.
ā¢Monitoring daily operations to ensure compliance with established procedures, standards, and treatment protocols.
ā¢Supporting consistent delivery of individual and group counseling, education, recovery planning, and referral activities.
NOTE
ToĀ obtain certified status in the CADC credential, one must complete three (3) years of counseling under the supervision of a licensed professional and satisfyĀ these requirements of the NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board. Out-of-state applicants with similar credentials from an IC&RC Member Board will also be considered. Alternatively, applicants possessing one of these credentials from a governing authority recognized by the NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board will be considered:
Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS)
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)
***Applicants possessing one (1) of these credentials will be considered including those in an Associate Status.
Necessary Special Qualifications
Credentialed as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or in an equivalent credential from a governing authority recognized by the NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board.

Salary Range: $43,267 - $75,718

The Rehabilitation and Reentry Division oversees services, programs, and community partnerships aimed at helping individuals reintegrate into theirĀ communitiesĀ following incarceration. Staff members work with people who are incarcerated, probationers, post-release supervisees, and parolees. This division collaborates with prison and supervision staff to create individualized reentry plans, coordinate services, and deliver evidence-based programs to improve outcomes and reduce recidivism.Ā
