AWS Integration Architect

Locations: Dallas, TX or Akron, OH (Hybrid)

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an AWS Integration Architect to lead the architecture, design, and technical oversight of event-driven and asynchronous enterprise integration solutions built on AWS serverless technologies. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with enterprise integration patterns, API and messaging architectures, and AWS-based serverless solutions. This role also provides secondary support for AWS deployment activities and Level 3 production incident response when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Integration Architecture: Lead the architecture, design, and technical oversight of event-driven and asynchronous enterprise integration solutions built on AWS serverless technologies.
  • Solution Design: Design scalable, secure, and resilient integration patterns, APIs, and messaging workflows across enterprise systems.
  • Architecture Governance: Provide architectural oversight and implementation guidance to ensure integration solutions align with approved designs, standards, and enterprise patterns.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with data and application architects to ensure integration solutions align with approved data models, interface contracts, and enterprise architecture standards.
  • DevOps Backup Support: Provide backup support for AWS deployment activities, including infrastructure-as-code updates, release troubleshooting, and environment support as needed.
  • Production Support: Provide Level 3 production support for critical integration incidents, including participation in on-call rotations, troubleshooting complex production issues, restoring service, and supporting incident resolution during high-priority events.
  • Operational Excellence: Monitor and optimize integration solutions for performance, security, reliability, high availability, and fault tolerance.
  • AWS Cost Optimization: Analyze AWS usage and cost across integration solutions and recommend architectural, configuration, and operational improvements to optimize cloud spend.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 15+ years of software engineering, integration engineering, or related IT experience.
  • Architecture Background: 5+ years of experience architecting enterprise integration solutions on AWS, including serverless and event-driven architectures in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • AWS Services: Strong experience with AWS services supporting integration architectures, including API Gateway, Lambda, SNS, SQS, Step Functions, EventBridge, and CloudWatch.
  • Programming: Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, and Python for building serverless and integration solutions.
  • Deployment Automation: Experience using AWS CDK and GitHub Actions to support infrastructure-as-code deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and environment promotion.
  • Security: Strong knowledge of API security, authentication, and authorization, including OAuth, JWT, IAM, and Cognito.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong experience debugging, troubleshooting, and optimizing cloud-based integration solutions across development, deployment, and production environments.
  • Integration Patterns: Deep knowledge of integration patterns, including synchronous APIs, asynchronous messaging, publish-subscribe, and event-driven architectures.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across business and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AI Platforms: Experience working with enterprise AI platforms and services, including OpenAI, Claude, and Amazon Bedrock.
  • AI-Driven Integration: Experience applying AI to integration and engineering workflows, such as schema validation, design analysis, developer enablement, operational support, or intelligent automation.
  • AI Frameworks: Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI and their application in enterprise integration workflows.
  • API & Microservices: Experience with enterprise-scale API management and microservices design.
  • Distributed Systems: Knowledge of resiliency, observability, and performance patterns for distributed systems.
  • AWS Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
