Requirements
What You'll Do
- Manage all aspects of Special Education services and compliance for an assigned caseload of students, including IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
- Work closely with classroom teachers to ensure student needs are met, IEP goals are pursued, and IEP provisions are followed.
- Serve as an active contributor to the iMTSS process and effectively communicate with teachers, parents, and administrators to facilitate the IEP process.
- Accurately and efficiently maintain IEPs and student files while staying current on special education laws and regulations.
- Prepare and deliver standards-aligned instruction, including specialized, one-on-one, small-group, or inclusion instruction in accordance with IEPs.
- Use data and assessments to drive instruction and adapt curriculum using multiple strategies, tools, and technology to engage all learners.
- Create a caring, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment that ensures high standards of achievement for every student.
- Complete written IEP progress reports at least as frequently as general education progress reports (minimum quarterly).
- Maintain accurate records, including grade books, report cards, lesson plans, attendance, and behavior documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues and staff to improve student learning and support a strong, connected school community.
- Participate in ongoing, job-embedded professional development to support personal growth and student success.
What You'll Need
 Â
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Current ODE License as an Intervention Specialist required; Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) status in teaching assignment.
- 1–2 years' experience working with students with disabilities preferred; experience with ETRs, IATs, and writing IEPs a plus.
- A passion for improving educational opportunities for urban students and building a strong, mission-driven organization.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with proven, effective classroom instructional and management skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and sound judgment in all aspects of the job.
- Proficiency in the use of technology.
- Must complete a BCI/FBI background check and be in compliance with Ohio Administrative Code Rule 3301-20-01.
