General Job Description: The Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in supporting production operations by developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing processes for automotive components. This position ensures that manufacturing systems are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing and a strong understanding of lean principles, automation, and process optimization. Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing automotive products. Key Responsibilities Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Maintenance, Production, and Supply Chain. Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Support launch activities for new programs, including equipment installation, process validation, and operator training. Collaborate with Process Engineer to develop and maintain process documentation including work instructions, PFMEAs, and control plans. Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues to minimize downtime and scrap. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. Interface with OEM customers and Tier Two suppliers as needed. QualificationsRequirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in the automotive industry. Experience with APQP, PPAP, and launch readiness activities. Familiarity with SAP ERP systems. Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus. Experience with injection molding processes and tooling. Experience with vision systems used in poka-yoke (error-proofing) applications. Knowledge of GD&T and Statistical Process Control (SPC). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
