The 4200 Complex Cardiovascular Unit serves a diverse population, with patients recovering from open-heart surgeries, amputations, lung operations, heart attacks and other critical medical concerns. As RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in ensuring every patient has the best treatment experience possible. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. including every other weekend and 3 holidays per year.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide direct nursing care. 
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population. 
  • Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.  
  • Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.  
  • Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document.  
  • Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process. 
  • Delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program) 
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification   

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)  
  • One or more years of acute RN experience


Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
