Position Summary

The Site Manager provides hands-on technical support and coordination for the operation, maintenance, safety, and appearance of The East End, a large mixed-use campus located at the former Goodyear headquarters in Akron, Ohio.


This individual-contributor role coordinates with contractors, supports repairs and preventive maintenance, contributes to capital planning, and helps ensure that the campus and its building systems are maintained to a high standard of care, performance, and long-term value. The position has no direct reports.


This is a full-time, on-site position requiring daily availability Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required, and the Site Manager participates in on-call emergency response.


What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, safety, security, and appearance of the campus, its buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  • Coordinate day-to-day work with contractors and the Maintenance Assistant for equipment installations, repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, and other site activities.
  • Confirm that contractors and service providers perform quality work safely, productively, and in compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, legal, and code requirements.
  • Troubleshoot building and equipment issues, perform repairs within your capabilities, and determine when specialized vendor support is needed.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client, tenant, and resident concerns; coordinate follow-through and document completed actions.
  • Purchase and manage maintenance supplies and equipment, maintain accurate logs and records, and complete an annual inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with annual capital planning for building systems, structures, parking areas, grounds, and other campus needs.
  • Support site workflow processes and monthly operational reporting, including non-routine events, major projects, training, cost savings, and significant contractor, vendor, or customer-service matters.
  • Maintain current technical knowledge through training, educational opportunities, and relevant technical publications.


What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or training is valued.
  • At least four to five years of building operations and maintenance experience, with a practical understanding of commercial building systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and facility issues, coordinate repairs, and work effectively with contractors and maintenance personnel.
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, and general computer skills.
  • A service-focused, team-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively with clients, tenants, residents, contractors, vendors, and internal partners.
  • Ability to work on site Monday through Friday, respond to emergencies while on call, and work evenings or weekends when operational needs require.
  • Ability to walk and inspect buildings and grounds, indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.


Preferred Experience

  • Operations or maintenance experience within a large commercial, industrial, institutional, or mixed-use property.
  • Experience coordinating preventive maintenance programs, vendor performance, work orders, and site documentation.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices, environmental requirements, and building or equipment codes.
  • Experience supporting operating budgets, capital planning, purchasing, or monthly property reporting.
