Overview
POSITION PURPOSE:Â Â
The principal accountability of the position is to support all general production activities. This includes setting equipment up for production, any necessary cleaning, monitoring the filling process of the finished product, and final packaging for distribution. This position will also support any other production activities as required by the Lead, Production Supervisor, or the Manufacturing Manager.Â
Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONSÂ ANDÂ EXPERIENCE:Â Â
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent requirementÂ
- 1+Â year of manufacturing experience (food manufacturing preferred)Â

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Â
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracyÂ
- Able to safely operate a tow motorÂ
- Works in accordance with, and supports, company Standard Operating Procedures as outlined in the HACCP, SSOP and Quality manualsÂ
- Reliable, dependable, with a “team player” orientationÂ
- Willingness to be flexible on working hours, including weekends and holidaysÂ
- Willing to work overtime as neededÂ
- Willingness to speak up and review problems with supervisor in order to determine best course of action, offering suggestions and providing clear communication of the problemÂ
- Demonstrated verbal communication skills to be effectiveÂ
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Frequent work in a hot and humid production environmentÂ
- Occasional work required outside in various temperaturesÂ
- This position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelinesÂ
- Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team membersÂ
- All safety procedures in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied withÂ
Responsibilities
- Following all plant Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs) as trained, including wearing proper PPE and following safety guidelinesÂ
- Operating the Bone Dumper machinery, including loading the Dumper and operating the Crane systemÂ
- Operating Pallet Jacks and Tow Motors as needed, if certifiedÂ
- Assisting with Pack-Off operations, including understanding the requirements for filling product into various containers and disposing of fat and mashÂ
- Completing necessary paperwork and documentation, must understand all packaging and labeling requirements for productsÂ
- Responsible for creating and applying product labelsÂ
- Maintain quality production by measuring and recording temperatures, monitoring tempered bone temperature, etcÂ
- Support proper sanitation practices by cleaning totes, cleaning the bone station, cleaning baskets, operating the foamer, following species-change procedures, and any required cleaning before, during, and after a batchÂ
- Set-up and operate production and automated packaging equipmentÂ
- Understand all equipment capabilities and production procedures Â
- Maintain product segregation and lot/batch managementÂ
- Follow all associated regulations and procedures, including USDA policies and allergen complianceÂ
- Adhere to all safety standards and company policies/proceduresÂ
- Maintain clean, organized and safe working environmentÂ
- Other relevant duties as assigned and properly trained to completeÂ
