Our company is seeking a certified Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. While this role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, our ideal candidate is also comfortable working as a technician who can diagnose and repair technology issues in newer and older trucks. In addition to making repairs, you will also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on diesel engines, brakes, transmission, and other systems. Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment & random drug testing.
Diesel Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines.
- Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulics, brakes, transmission, steering, and other systems
- Electrical troubleshooting; tire maintenance; minor transmission repair; brake and air conditioning system repair
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary
- Prepare work orders and orders parts.
- Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
- Road calls and occasional out of town stays are possible
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Diesel Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED certificate required
Valid driver's license (CDL strongly preferred)
Diesel technician or mechanic degree a plus
Experience with small diesel engine repair
Some welding experience a plus
Mechanical skills
Basic computer skills
Basic math skills
