Position Overview:

Navier is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong hands-on experience to join our fast paced and innovative team. The successful candidate will own a major system in our next production vessel and contribute to making the N30 the most reliable and successful electric boat.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of a cross disciplinary system.
  • Own the complete production implementation including procurement, design testing and validation, quality control, and operator training.
  • Create robust and accurate drawings and models for production using SolidWorks.
  • Design for the correct manufacturing process including machining, composites, injection molding, bending, etc along with choosing a suitable surface finish or coating. 

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of experience
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure designs are safe, efficient, and meet regulatory standards.
  • Experience with quality control and a production environment.

Highly Desired:

  • Experience with the maritime environment (e.g., IP ratings, ABYC standard, corrosion issues, galvanic isolation)
  • Familiarity with electric power systems
  • Experienced and passionate boater

Navier's pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.
