Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

2nd Shift

The Opportunity

Hitachi Energy located in Alamo, TN is seeking a Multi‑Craft Maintenance Technician to join its manufacturing team. In this role, the successful candidate will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment. The technician will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure maximum equipment efficiency, reliability, and uptime. All tasks will be performed in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and continuous improvement objectives.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out (LOTO), OSHA, MSDS, EPA, and HAZMAT requirements
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance on production machines and facility equipment
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs to production equipment to minimize downtime
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment including motors, transformers, PLCs, VFDs, compressors, chillers, boilers, relays, switches, position‑sensing devices, and printed circuit boards
  • Safely troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair 115V and 480V electrical equipment
  • Read, interpret, and analyze blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, block diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Run conduit and pull wire for new machines and equipment installations
  • Perform preventive maintenance and provide recommendations to improve the PM program
  • Monitor and document equipment readings, settings, meters, gauges, and observations as required
  • Use common electrical and mechanical tools including multimeters, amp probes, meggers, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
  • Perform basic machinist duties, plumbing maintenance, and carpentry functions
  • Perform basic welding and cutting tasks including acetylene torch, plasma, stick welding, and brazing
  • Secure and complete required department work order documentation                   
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in assigned work areas and general surroundings
  • Work effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly with production staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Your background

Associate degree in an engineering discipline or industrial maintenance/electrician certificate from an accredited trade school or 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions

Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC principles, and industrial controls
