Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in business or related discipline and two (2) years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two (2) or years in Residential Lending experience preferred.
- 1 or more years’ experience working with non-profit housing partners and Federal/State grant programs preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Complete understanding of Mortgage Banking loan policy, products, and procedures.
- Complete understanding of CRA & Banking Regulations.
- Working knowledge of workflow application, disclosures, closing and upload.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of current compliance and regulatory guidelines with an approved NMLS number.
- Knowledge of Mortgage Banking underwriting application systems such as MortgageBot and Mortgage Builder.
Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements:
Business Travel required as needed between Bank Office and all designated non-profit housing agencies, realtors, etc., as well as various bank branches and regional business partner meetings, Conferences, Professional Organizations, and role related Training. NMLS Certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
Tasks Performed:
- 45% Establishes relationships and maintains active business development calls with all non-profit housing partners in a designated territory. Maintains an active database of the various grant program options available through these partners and trains the other Loan Originators in the designated territory on the programs.
- 25% Originates residential mortgage loans, to include emphasis on the Affordable Housing products, according to established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines, within their home base market. Explains a variety of mortgage products and associated closing costs, negotiates loan terms, and conditions, and finalizes sales. Maintains primary customer and non-profit housing partner responsibility from application thru to loan closing.
- 20% Assists Bank CRA Officer, Residential Mortgage Banking Manager, and Sales Manager in the development, implementation, and reporting of CRA-related loan tracking, loan programs and all CRA-related business development activities, including recommendations for additional loan programs and special financing offerings.
- 5% Assists with coordination and compilation of Residential Mortgage Lending for Mock CRA Exam for submission to the Executive Management Team to monitor and gage progress meeting Lending Test minimums in all state Assessment Areas, including recommendations for additional loan programs and special financing offerings.
- 5% Other duties as assigned.
