About the Role

Tru72 Heating and Cooling has been keeping Oregon homes comfortable for over 50 years. As an authorized service provider inside The Home Depot, we are looking for a hands-on Home Depot Program Manager to lead and grow our retail lead generation team in the Portland area.

If you love retail sales, coaching teams, and working out in the field rather than sitting behind a desk all day, this is the role for you. You will oversee our program across 10 local Home Depot stores (and counting as we grow). You will be fully responsible for hiring and training our frontline team, building great partnerships with Home Depot store management, and keeping our daily program performance on track.

This role reports directly to the VP of Retail and Business Operations and works closely with our local branch team.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

  • Lead and Coach the Team: Recruit, hire, and onboard your team of Lead Generators and Team Leaders. You’ll run regular, casual training sessions to help them get comfortable talking to store customers, asking great questions, and booking appointments.
  • Work in the Field: Spend the majority of your week out in the stores working right alongside your team. You will look at displays, roll out seasonal promotions, and provide on-the-spot coaching to keep energy and performance high.
  • Build Relationships with Home Depot: Be the professional face of our company inside the stores. You’ll build strong, supportive relationships with Store Managers, Assistant Managers, and floor staff to ensure our program is running smoothly and following store rules.
  • Keep an Eye on Performance: Review team results on a regular basis. You'll make sure everyone is working efficiently, meeting their daily targets, and helping the team hit its overall goals.
  • Stay Connected with the Branch: Partner closely with our local General Manager and office staff to make sure the customer leads your team generates flow smoothly over to our technicians and sales estimators.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 2 to 5+ years of experience managing teams in retail, field marketing, or sales. Experience working inside or with a big-box retailer like The Home Depot is a huge plus.
  • Leadership Style: A hands-on leader who likes to lead by example on the floor. You know how to motivate an hourly team, keep things fun and competitive, and hold people accountable.
  • Great Communicator: You are friendly, approachable, and professional. You can chat confidently with everyone from a weekend shopper to store managers and company executives.
  • Comfort with Reports: You’re comfortable reading simple performance dashboards and using data to see where a team member might need a little extra training or support.

Logistics & Requirements

  • Must live in or near the Portland area.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record suitable for using a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to pass a standard company background check.
