Machinist I

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate a variety of machinery and equipment such as manual lathes, mills, grinders, hand tools, and power tools.
• Proficient at operating a manual lathe including but not limited to single point threading and operating a manual mill.
• Must be proficient at the fundamentals of cutting - speeds and feeds, blade selection, etc.  
• Verify accuracy of machined parts against blueprints or engineering drawings by measuring with inspection tooling and gauges.
• Maintain tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Working knowledge of conversational programming.
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD software, Solidworks preferred.
• Proficient at CAM software, Mastercam preferred.
• All other tasks assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education)

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset.
• Manual Machining: 3 years (Preferred).
• Have own machinist tools.
• Ability to follow verbal and written work instruction.
• Ability to effectively understand and operate within safety guidelines and policies. 

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Standard production/manufacturing environment. Work involves extended periods of standing, occasional walking, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
