Senior Registration Associate - Patient Access
Samaritan Hospital, Albany Memorial Campus
Holiday and/or weekend rotation is required.
​A two-week training period is required M - F 8a - 430p
The Senior Registration Associate provides oversight & support of the workflow & functions in accordance with level of experience, education & standards. This colleague assumes an expanded role & increased responsibility including delegating to others and participating in the development & process improvement of policies & procedures. The Senior works closely with leadership to maintain efficient & effective operations to ensure quality in daily operations, and may partner with leadership with the selection, orientation & performance feedback of the team. Additionally, the Senior Registration Associate works cooperatively to ensure that key customer needs are being met & that we achieve operational & performance goals.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates operational, technical & / or clerical support services that enhance or improve coordination, preparation & flow of the department process & core work.
- Plans & organizes workflows & prioritizes customers’ needs.
- May lead a small team; serves as a mentor.
- Creates & maintain procedural standards & records as appropriate for role.
- Develops & maintains educational programs for the team members, including new employee orientation.
- Utilizes multiple system applications for data collection & management.
- Incorporates basic knowledge of Trinity Health policies, practices & processes to ensure quality, confidentiality & safety are prioritized.
- Demonstrates knowledge of departmental processes & procedures & ability to readily acquire new knowledge.
- Collaborates on performance improvement activities as indicated by outcomes in program efficiency & patient experience.
- Helps to identify opportunities, develop solutions & lead the team through resolution.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent / GED Minimum of three (3) years' experience with competency in patient access, pre-service & / or registration experience.
- Ability to obtain a national certification in HFMA CRCR & / or NAHAM CHAA within one (1) year of hire.
Additional Qualifications (nice to have)
- Previous Leadership Experience
- Knowledge of federal or state government agencies including but not limited to Medicare, Medicaid, VA or Charity Care programs, or patient management & healthcare accounts receivable within the revenue cycle.
Pay range: $21.20-$31.90
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
