This job is FULL-TIME ONLY, 35-40 hours. 2nd and 3rd shifts are the only ones available at this time. There is a separate application for substitutes.


Duties of the Direct Support Trainer include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Provide service and supports to individuals with ASD (social and communication challenges).

2. Work cooperatively and openly with supervisor, co-workers, parents, guardians, and other appropriate persons

involved with the individual. Relay pertinent information to co-workers.

3. Uphold individual confidentiality and ensure that individual rights are always being implemented.

4. Be flexible in regard to work schedule, assignments, and procedures.

5. Implement all goals as scheduled on individual’s plan of care, IHP; collect and document data when the goal is

run. Utilize Therap. Report allegations of abuse immediately.

6. Assist individuals with behaviors, learning good work skills, and other work-related issues(e.g., hygiene, appearance,

staying on work schedule, etc.) and provide job support (as needed), train, monitor and assist individuals in job 

settings.

7. Assist with the development of individual-specific schedules using TEACCH methods and ensure schedules are

being properly completed.

8. Assist with task analysis of individuals’ goals.

9. Document progress on training.

10. Maintain a safe and orderly training environment.

11. Monitor and implement behavior modification programs (using the PIP procedure if applicable). Notify issues to

supervisor.

12. Encourage individuals’ independence and self-advocacy, ensure the awareness of individual rights.

13. Attend in-service trainings as arranged and required – staff meetings, etc.

14. Administer medications, if applicable.

15. Administer CPR/First Aid, if needed.

16. Write incident reports, as required.

17. Provide information to the supervisor as needed to note problems.

18. Compliance with agency Policy.

19. Participate in site drills (fire, safety, emergency, disaster) and adhere to safety procedures.

20. Food preparation using specific individual diet orders and individual training on food preparation.

21. Assist with individual(s) appointments and transport as directed.

22. Encourage andmaintain a positive work environmentthat promotesteamwork and staff involvement. Use positive

interaction with individuals including demonstrating respect, tone and professional behavior.

23. Assist with setting up structured activities.

24. Ability to work in outside elements year round (as needed).

25. Provide excellent customer service to individuals, guardians and visitors.

26. Complete paperwork, documentations and billing as required.

27. Assist in the development of appropriate daily living tasks & tools as needed.

28. Care of farm and other animals (as needed) and gardens (as needed).

29. Assist with day to day operations in the site, including household activities, cooking, social skills, etc.

30. Be familiar and comply with GHA policies all applicable state and federal regulations, guidelines and standards.

31. Perform other duties as assigned.
