Title: 2nd Shift Warehouse Team Leader

Department: Operations

Location: Albert Lea, MN

Reports to: Distribution Manager

Status: Full Time; Non-Exempt

Schedule: Monday–Friday; Start time is 2:00 pm with a varying end time. Occasionally changes to work schedule may occur due to production or training needs.

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Distribution Manager, the Warehouse Team Leader coordinates shift tasks and assignments and actively contributes to the successful fulfillment of warehouse responsibilities. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

  • Support daily warehouse operations, including storing, picking, packing, staging, and shipping. 
  • Assign tasks in the absence of the Distribution Manager to maintain workflow. 
  • Monitor floor operations for compliance with safety, quality, and company standards. 
  • Lead, motivate, and support staff to ensure accurate, on-time order fulfillment. 
  • Train new hires and coach team members to improve performance and skills. 
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. 
  • Report damages, shortages, and operational issues promptly. 
  • Respond to pick up appointment emails during off-hours as needed. 
  • Prepare and share daily KPIs, shift updates, and operational notes. 
  • Assist drivers with inbound/outbound processes and required paperwork. 
  • Support inventory control, including cycle counts and discrepancy resolution. 
  • Collaborate across departments to resolve order, inventory, and scheduling issues. 
  • Identify and support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), 1-2 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documentation in English including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 
  • Utilize calculators to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to obtain forklift and/or pallet jack license.
