The Farrowing Department Head is responsible for overseeing the daily aspects of swine farrowing including maintaining farrowing targets, individual sow and piglet care, feeding, farrowing, piglet health and vaccination program, nutrition, staff development, and record keeping. Must speak and read Spanish.
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school education in swine production; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and training.
