Masker

Empire Coating Inc. is looking for a Production Masker to join our team!

If you have a great eye for detail, enjoy hands-on work, and take pride in getting the little things right, this could be a great opportunity for you. No prior masking experience is required - we will train the right person!

About the Job

Production Maskers prepare parts for painting, powder coating, anodizing, and other finishing processes by carefully protecting specific areas of each part from the coating or treatment.

This is a hands-on, highly detailed position where accuracy and consistency are extremely important. You'll work with a variety of masking materials, including different types of tape, plugs, and liquid masking products, and learn how to apply them according to the job's work instructions.

What You'll Do

• Read and follow work orders and job instructions to determine masking requirements.
• Apply masking materials such as tape, plugs, and liquid mask to protect specific areas of parts.
• Use different masking techniques depending on the part, process, and requirements.
• Carefully position and secure masking materials to ensure proper coverage.
• Inspect your own work for common issues such as missing masking, crooked or improperly positioned masking, gaps, wrinkles, or air bubbles.
• Use hand tools such as razor blades and wire cutters safely and accurately.
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Communicate with Lead Maskers when questions or issues arise.
• Follow all safety, quality, and production requirements.

What We're Looking For

You don't need previous masking experience. We'll teach you the process!

• Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in their work.
• Has good hand-eye coordination and enjoys precise, hands-on tasks.
• Is patient and able to maintain accuracy while performing detailed work.
• Can follow written instructions and ask questions when something is unclear.
• Can work independently while also being part of a team.
• Is dependable and willing to learn.
• Is comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Is willing to work overtime when needed.

Experience with crafts, painting, model building, Cricut projects, sewing, or other detailed hands-on hobbies can be a great fit for this type of work - but is not required.

Schedule

Regular Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM

Summer Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM; Friday, 6:30 AM–12:30 PM

Compensation & Benefits

Starting Pay: $17.00+ per hour Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.
