Job Summary: 

The Integration and Test Engineer is responsible for developing, executing, and documenting test procedures for complex systems to ensure performance, functionality, and reliability. This role involves integrating hardware and software components, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine system designs. The engineer will support the full testing lifecycle, from requirements analysis to final verification and validation. 


Key Responsibilities: 

System Integration and Testing: 

  • Develop and implement test plans, test cases, and procedures for system verification and validation
  • Conduct integration and regression testing to ensure seamless operation of hardware and software components
  • Perform functional, performance, and environmental testing based on project requirements
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and support root cause analysis

Collaboration and Documentation: 

  • Work closely with design, software, and hardware teams to identify and resolve integration challenges
  • Develop and maintain test documentation, including test reports, procedures, and compliance artifacts
  • Provide technical support for customer demonstrations, field testing, and operational deployment

Compliance and Quality Assurance: 

  • Ensure all testing activities comply with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Support quality assurance initiatives by identifying process improvements and implementing best practices

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience:
    • Junior: 0-3 years of experience in assembly, system integration and testing 
    • Journeyman: 3-10 years of experience in assembly, system integration and testing
    • Senior: 10+ years of experience in assembly, system integration and testing 
  • Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility
  • Minimum Skills Required:
  • Experience with system integration and testing methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of test equipment, data acquisition, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW).
  • Understanding of software-hardware interactions and embedded systems testing.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret test data, diagnose failures, and provide corrective actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working in a DoD, aerospace, or defense industry environment. 
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD, DO-178C, DO-254, or other relevant standards. 
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and cybersecurity principles in test environments. 
  • Experience with environmental testing (e.g., vibration, thermal, EMI/EMC compliance). 
  • Background in agile testing practices and DevSecOps methodologies.


Work environment/Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to work in a lab, manufacturing, or field testing environment with occasional exposure to industrial settings.
  • May require lifting up to 25 pounds and working with test equipment.
  • Travel may be required for on-site testing, field support, or customer demonstrations.

 

Work Schedule: 

This is a full-time position, typically working 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required depending on operational needs.
