The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout all Laguna Development Corporation (LDC) casinos and related facilities. This position performs a wide range of custodial duties, including vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, trash removal, restroom sanitation, cleaning gaming tables, slot machines, windows, mirrors, walls, doors, carpets, and furnishings, while adhering to all LDC Core Values, policies, procedures, and custodial department standard operating procedures. The Custodian is expected to practice safety standards at all times, promptly report injuries, unsafe conditions, or equipment repair needs, maintain knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and ensure all assigned areas remain clean, safe, and hazard-free. The role requires building positive relationships with guests, coworkers, clients, and vendors through courteous, professional interactions, providing information and directions to guests when needed, participating in meetings and training activities, serving as a mentor to custodial staff when assigned, and consistently demonstrating teamwork, reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude. Regular attendance, including weekends, holidays, and other non-traditional work hours, is required, along with the ability to perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates preferably possess a high school diploma or GED and must be capable of safely operating custodial equipment, including carpet extractors, spot extractors, wet/dry vacuums, and chariot vacuums. The position requires frequent physical activity, including balancing, climbing, bending, crawling, crouching, kneeling, reaching overhead, standing, walking, sitting, twisting, and repetitive hand use for most of the workday. Employees must regularly push, pull, carry, lift, and transfer up to 25 pounds and occasionally handle loads exceeding 25 pounds. The role also requires the ability to make routine decisions, solve basic problems, organize tasks, and read and write as needed. This position has no supervisory responsibilities and is primarily performed indoors, where employees may be exposed to loud noise and cleaning fumes. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and maintain a commitment to exceptional cleanliness, guest service, safety, and teamwork.
