Job Summary: 

The IT Administrator is responsible for managing and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and software applications. This role involves maintaining system integrity, ensuring network security, providing technical support to end-users, and implementing IT policies and procedures to enhance overall efficiency. The IT Administrator will collaborate with the IT team to identify and resolve technical issues, manage IT projects, and support the organization’s technological needs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • System Management:
  • Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure the availability and reliability of IT services.
  • Perform regular updates and patches to operating systems and applications.
  • Network Administration:
  • Manage and support network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and threats.
  • User Support and Training:
  • Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new employees on IT systems and best practices.
  • Maintain documentation of IT processes, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Implement and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and breaches, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • IT Project Management:
  • Assist in planning and executing IT projects, including system upgrades and new technology implementations.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and recommend improvements to IT processes and infrastructure.
  • Manage inventory of IT assets, including hardware and software licenses.
  • Backup and Recovery:
  • Implement and maintain data backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Regularly test and update disaster recovery plans.

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience: 3-10 years of experience in IT administration or a related role
  • Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in network protocols and hardware (routers, switches, firewalls)
    • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure)
    • Experience with IT security tools and best practices
    • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Certifications (Optional but Preferred): 

  • CompTIA Network+ or Security+
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or equivalent
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform tasks such as connecting cables, installing hardware, and setting up workstations
  • Standing, sitting, and bending for extended periods

Work Schedule: 

This is a full-time position, typically working 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required depending on operational needs.
