Type of Opportunity: PRN FTE: 0.00 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

  • Transports patients to scanning room; prepares and maintains rooms. Explains procedure to patients.
  • Administers isotope dosage accurately following established departmental procedures; accurately records dosage administered. Observe patient during procedure and report any unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel.
  • Schedules Nuclear Medicine exams to coordinate with other patient exams.
  • Performs Nuclear Medicine studies; determines appropriate isotope required; obtains patient history and reviews patient condition.
  • Maintains gamma cameras and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs quality control on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Uses Radiology Information System, hospital information systems as required.
  • Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, workshops, current literature, inservices and/or seminars. Attends meetings as required or requested.
  • Takes call for Nuclear Medicine procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree
  • NM Nuclear Medicine Tech
  • Requires Completion of ARRT(N) or NMTCB Certification within 6 months after graduation.
  • Candidates who are selected for the position must sign an agreement to obtain this credential.
  • BLS required at time of hire.
