Job Summary and Responsibilities

Licensed Counselors at  the St. Joseph’s Sobriety Program provide individual and group counseling services to adults participating in alcohol and/or drug addiction.  This role includes responsibility for conducting intake assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating trauma-informed, evidence-based care. Counselors also support family engagement, parenting education, and coordination of wraparound services within a collaborative team environment.

Job Requirements

  • Conduct initial intake assessments to determine the appropriate level of care using the ASAM criteria.
  • Develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Provide weekly individual and group counseling services utilizing evidence-based approaches, including CRA, CBT, and MI.
  • Facilitate parenting, relapse prevention, and recovery-focused group sessions.
  • Support 12-Step recovery participation and facilitate or refer to Al-Anon-informed groups.
  • Complete clinical documentation, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in accordance with NMAC and Medicaid standards.
  • Collaborate with case managers, peer support staff, and community partners to coordinate holistic care.
  • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals to higher levels of care as needed.
  • Participate in weekly case reviews, staff meetings, and clinical supervision.
  • Ensure culturally competent, family-centered service delivery aligned with trauma-informed principles.

Qualifications:

  • Credential: LADAC required. LPCC, LISW, LMHC, or LMSW preferred.
  • BILINGUAL - Spanish/English
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of clinical experience in substance and/or alcohol addiction.
