Assess residential garage door installation and service requirements by evaluating site conditions, equipment needs, and potential construction modifications or obstructions prior to starting each job.Ā

Document the full scope of work, including any additional services or adjustments needed, and communicate these with the Salesperson and/or Scheduling Supervisor for approval.Ā

Install residential garage doors, openers, springs, tracks, cables, hinges, locks, and related hardware in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.Ā

Perform service and diagnostic work on a wide range of residential garage door systems, including rolling steel doors, torsion springs, and dock equipment.Ā

Complete minor framing, construction adjustments, and modifications to support accurate and secure installations.Ā

Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards.Ā

Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and job completion status.Ā
-
Load, unload, inspect, and prepare all necessary tools, equipment, and materials for daily assignments.Ā

Keep work vehicles and job sites clean, organized, and well-maintained.Ā

Manage vehicle inventory to ensure adequate parts and supplies are available for service and installation jobs.Ā

Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining installation and repair processes and addressing questions or concerns.Ā

Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure a safe and productive work environment.Ā

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeāÆto time at their sole and complete discretion.Ā
Qualifications
ExperienceĀ

A minimum of 1 ā3 years of experience in garage door installation or related trade (construction, carpentry, mechanical experience is preferred.Ā
EducationĀ

A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.Ā
Required SkillsĀ

Excellent written and verbal communication skills while interfacing with all levels of staff and customers.Ā Ā

Strong attention to detail and workmanship.Ā

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ā

Ability to read and interpret documents such safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.Ā Ā Ā

Basic math skills required.Ā Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Ā Ā

Ability to read a tape measure and convert nominal measurementsĀ

Willingness to learn products and processes.Ā

Must have a valid Driverās License.Ā
Work ConditionsĀ Ā

This position involves working at residential, commercial, and construction sites in both indoor and outdoor environments.Ā Ā

Installers are regularly exposed to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.Ā Ā

The role requires frequent standing, climbing ladders, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy materials (often 50ā75 lbs. or more).Ā Ā

Work involves using hand and power tools, and working at different heights may be required.Ā

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, hard hats, eye protection, and steel-toe boots, etc., must be worn on all job sites.Ā Ā

Standard hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work depending on customer scheduling and emergency service calls.Ā Ā

Travel to various job locations is required in a company vehicle.Ā
