Optimum and Southwest Women’s Oncology are seeking a dedicated and driven Staff Accountant to join our high-performance team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Who We Are

Optimum and Southwest Women’s Oncology are two sides of the same coin, precision performance and profound compassion.

At Optimum, we help people become the best versions of themselves, combining cutting-edge medical science, biohacking, aesthetics, and human potential into a single ecosystem of vitality. At SWWO, we help women triumph over gynecologic illness through skill, courage, and heart. Together, we’re building something rare: a culture where clinical excellence meets human flourishing — where our team thrives as much as our patients and clients do.

Who You Are

You are a highly organized and detail-oriented accounting professional who takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting strong financial operations.

You thrive in environments where precision matters and where your work directly supports operational efficiency and organizational success. You bring strong technical accounting skills, excellent organizational habits, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and integrity.

You enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams and take a proactive approach to identifying improvements in processes, controls, and financial reporting. You understand that strong financial operations are essential to supporting both patient care and business growth.

Who You Are NOT

You are not someone who:

  • Waits to be told what to do rather than taking initiative to solve problems or move work forward.
  • Struggles with organization, documentation, or meeting deadlines.
  • Becomes easily overwhelmed during busy financial cycles such as month-end close or reporting periods.
  • Overlooks details or is comfortable with errors in financial records.
  • Avoids accountability or follow-through when financial tasks or reconciliations require resolution.
  • Prefers working in isolation rather than collaborating with operations, HR, and leadership teams.

Optimum and Southwest Women’s Oncology require a Staff Accountant who is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to maintaining accurate financial operations that support the organization’s growth and mission.

What You’ll Do

Accounting Operations

  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping activities including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), bank deposits, and account reconciliations.
  • Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and check or ACH payments accurately and on time.
  • Support billing operations and payment posting across both medical and wellness service lines.
  • Reconcile credit card statements, petty cash, and other balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure journal entries are properly recorded and documented.

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

  • Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Support the month-end close process including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready financial documentation and digital records.
  • Generate ad hoc financial reports and analysis for leadership as required.

Budgeting & Forecasting Support

  • Assist in gathering financial data required for annual budgets and rolling forecasts.

  • Track departmental spending and report on variances relative to budget.

  • Support analysis related to departmental or project-level financial performance.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure accounting practices adhere to GAAP and internal financial policies.
  • Support compliance with healthcare regulations including CMS and HIPAA where financial records intersect with patient data.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and patient-related information.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Partner with internal teams including HR, Operations, Procurement, and Clinical Administration to ensure accurate financial data flow.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.

  • Participate in financial system improvements or transitions (e.g., QuickBooks Online, payroll systems, or ERP tools).

What You Bring

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience in healthcare, medical practice, or multi-entity accounting environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting systems required.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.

The Optimum/SWWO Culture

We move fast, think long-term, and care deeply.
We don’t reward activity; we reward impact.
We hire individuals who can self-manage, over-deliver, and elevate the people around them.
We believe kindness and accountability are not opposites — they’re inseparable.

If you crave comfort, this isn’t it.
If you crave mastery, meaning, and measurable impact — welcome home.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary commensurate with experience, leadership bonuses, health & wellness coverage, and a 401(k) — but more importantly, the chance to build a legacy.
