Job DetailsJob Location: PMC-Divisional HQ - Alexandria, VA 22314Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.89 HourlyJob Category: PropertySchedule/Hours: Full-time   This position is responsible for:   The Salvation Army Potomac Division is seeking a reliable, hands-on, and service-minded Building Maintenance Worker I to support the daily care, safety, and functionality of Potomac Divisional Headquarters. This position is ideal for an individual who takes pride in maintaining clean, orderly, and well-operating facilities and enjoys performing a variety of practical maintenance, grounds, vehicle, and support tasks.   Under the supervision of the Divisional Property Manager, this role performs routine building maintenance, minor repairs, groundskeeping, vehicle maintenance coordination, furniture setup, errands, and general property support. The successful candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, responsive to operational needs, and committed to helping create a welcoming environment that supports the mission and work of The Salvation Army..   Key Responsibilities:   Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs, including basic plumbing, drywall repair, painting, carpentry, floor care, lighting, and general upkeep.   Maintain the appearance and safety of DHQ grounds through landscaping, debris removal, leaf removal, snow removal, and related outdoor tasks.   Assist with vehicle inspections, service appointments, registration renewals, repairs, and transportation of DHQ and floater vehicles as assigned.   Assemble, move, and arrange furniture, equipment, and supplies to support offices, meetings, and special projects.   Run errands such as picking up mail, supplies, maintenance materials, refreshments, and other items needed for daily operations.   Communicate professionally with staff, supervisors, vendors, and service technicians while maintaining clean, safe, and orderly work areas.   Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:   Work performed requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.   Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy computer equipment (25-50 lbs) on a frequent basis. Physical ability to "team lift" heavy materials, supplies and equipment (50-100 lbs) occasionally. Ability to stoop, crawl and climb when necessary.
